Terms and Conditions

Please read these competition rules carefully. If you enter the competition, we will assume that you have read these rules and that you agree to them.

1. Entry is open to all residents of England aged between 04 and 15 years old at the closing date, except TYO committee members. Proof of age and eligibility will be requested at registration for the competition.

2. The participant’s parent/guardian must consent to them entering the competition and confirm the entrant’s compliance with these terms and conditions.

3. The competition application form must be fully completed and returned with the participation fee of £5.00 to:

4. Closing date for entries is Thursday, 1st January 2015. Submissions received after this time will not be considered. Entries will not be returned so please remember to keep a copy.

5. Only one participant per application.

6. Participants permit TYO to edit or change entries in any way it may in its sole discretion considered necessary for the purposes of use in the competition.

7. By entering the competition, participants and their parent/guardian, warrant that they agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

8. Participants must be accompanied to each round of the competition by an adult.

9. Participants will be judged through the following process:

• All participants will be reviewed by a panel of judges. The judges will be leading members of the British Tamil community in this field. There will be five criteria that the participants will be judged on. The participants with the highest overall score will be the winners. In the event of a tie the head judge will have the deciding vote.
• Entrants will be contacted, if necessary, by a member of TYO UK.
• Entrants will be entered within one of the following age groups:
• 5 and under.
• Between 6 and 7 years (including);
• Between 8 and 9 years old (including);
• Between 10 and 12 years old (including);
• Between 13 and 15 years old (including).
• Entrants will be shortlisted within one of the above age group and asked to participate at the competition venue nearest to their residential address for the first round of the competition.
• The top three participants from each venue and age group will proceed onto the final round.
• The final round competition will determine the winners, top three overall for each age group

10. The prize will consist of:

• Certificates for all participants
• Medals for regional winners
• Trophy for overall winners

11. The prize is as stated and cannot be transferred.

12. If, after reasonable attempts have been made, a participant cannot be contacted or is unable to take up any part of the prize, TYO reserves the right to offer the prize to the next best participant.

13. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Unsuccessful participants will not be contacted. No feedback for unsuccessful entries will be provided.

14. TYO reserves the right to disqualify any participant who breaches any of these terms and conditions or to withhold or withdraw a prize if in its opinion participants do not reach the required standard.

15. TYO reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions or cancel this competition at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, and if circumstances arise outside its control. In this event, a notice will be posted on the www.tyouk.org website.

16. TYO does not accept any responsibility for late or lost entries due to the postal service. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.

17. All participants are expected to arrive on time to the competitions, failure to do so will result in disqualification.

18. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England
